The prestigious institution was founded by great men of vision in memory of SPOCO with a view to impart sound learning for Boys on the Sports Residential School pattern in a social context we combine academic excellence with due emphasis on curricular, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities.

Mr.S.M.Kaluti the founder paid his visit to Japan under EXPO-1970. The feelings that arose in him during this visit and the experience he felt by witnessing the performance of Indian Sportsmen in the IX Asain Games in 1982 resulted in the establishing of SPOCO, his brain child in the year 1983, under the aegis of SPOCO into Sports Residential School came in to existence on 01-08-1984. The inauguration of the school took place with the blessings of his holiness, Shriman Niranjana Pranava Swarupi Shivabasava Maha Swamiji of Rudraxi math Naganur Belgaum on 02-08-1984. The credit goes to this institute that this is the first of its kind in Co-operative sector in the whole of the country. Now the school is flourishing under the able guidance of Sri S M kaluti the founder of this institute.


Sport School Chandargi is a boy’s residential school that offers modern facilities of the highest order. Providing education and sports in a holistic manner at the same time ensuring excellence in all its aspects is the hallmark of Sport School Chandargi. Sport School Chandargi has emerged as one of the top schools in India drawing students not only from within the state but also from other state. Currently, the school has over 700 students from 5th standard to Class XII with a large campus offering world class infrastructural facilities. The syllabus is drawn from the best curricula around the world. Sport School Chandargi follows the State syllabus. Students are also offered pre-University courses.
